Visceral mobilization therapy is a manual approach to help restore structure and function to the musculoskeletal system. Bodily organs in good health have physiological motion. When organs experience diminished movement, visceral mobilization is used to apply specific forces to encourage the mobility and motility of the tissues. Gentle manipulations are used in order to improve the operation of individual organs and systems, as well as to bring structural integrity to the body as a whole. These manipulations are used as a stimulus to the point where a patient’s body is able to correct itself without forcing the correction on the body.
