    East Greenwich Clinic

    RI Rehab’s East Greenwich location is a fully equipped clinic with a 60’ x 24’ indoor, salt water pool that is kept at 87 degrees making it well suited for aquatic therapy programs. Trained and experienced staff members offer a spectrum of services and programs for physical therapy patients. East Greenwich also specializes in oncology programs and foot and ankle therapies.

    Debra M. Burns, PT
    Debra Burns, PT

    Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, Women’s Health Pelvic Floor Specialist

    Clinical Expertise:Integrative manual therapy, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, pelvic floor rehabilitation, women’s health, women’s oncology, acute and chronic pain management, pre and post surgical orthopedic and spinal rehabilitation, energy medicine, mind-body education.

    Background Education:Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT

    Professional Accomplishments & Involvements:Member special interest physical therapist group RI for pelvic floor dysfunction, extensive professional continuing education in manual therapy, mind body education, complementary and integrative healing methods, therapeutic yoga, meditation and energy medicine.

    Favorite sports: Dance enthusiast including ballroom, latin, swing, argentine tango, swimming, ocean work outs.

    Other passions: Debra enjoys applying what she has learned from decades of working with patients to help transform complex, acute and chronic symptoms into a path towards well-being for her patients. She also enjoys working with creative people, musicians, artists and entrepreneurs to help bring their ideas to fruition.

    Michael Calcagni
    Michael Calcagni, DPT, TPI Certified, Site Coordinator

    Qualifications: Doctorate of Physical Therapy, Certified in Functional Dry Needling, Titleist Golf Certified, LSVT BIG, Burdenko Level II

    Clinical Expertise: Manual Therapy, Dry Needling, Golf specific training and rehab, Sports Rehabilitation, Athletic Injury Prevention, Chronic pain, Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Injury Prevention, Parkinson’s rehab

    Background education: Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University, Bachelor of Science from University of Rhode Island

    Favorite Sports: Golf, swimming, Yoga, skiing, basketball and surfing

    Other passions: Mike takes a holistic approach with all his patients stressing the importance of daily movement, flexibility, mindful posture and deep breathing exercises. Mike played collegiate golf and continues to compete in local tournaments. Mike has also climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro on his honeymoon.

    Michelle Clark
    Michelle Clark, MSPT, CMT

    Qualifications: Master of Science in PT from URI 1994, certified in dry needling for lower body and pelvic floor muscles, extensive continuing education in pelvic floor PT: Levels 1-3 Herman and Wallace Institute for pelvic floor dysfunction, prenatal and post-partum PT, advanced bowel dysfunction, visceral mobilization for urogenital dysfunction, post prostatectomy/urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence

    Clinical Expertise: all of above, pelvic pain/pudendal neuralgia, constipation, fibromyalgia, certified in Massage Therapy from Bancroft School of Massage Therapy

    Professional Accomplishments and Involvements: member for past 4 years in SIG (special interest group) in R.I. for pelvic floor dysfunction/PT for both the female and male population

    Other passions: family (3 daughters 17, 15 and 12 years old), running, yoga

    Timothy Haitz
    Tim Haitz, DPT

    Qualifications: Timothy is working towards pursing his active release techniques (ART) certification. Timothy is also a level 1 CrossFit trainer and a semiprofessional mountain bike and cyclocross racer in his spare time.

     

    Clinical Expertise: Specializes in orthopedic, sports and spine physical therapy and has received specialized training in various manual therapy techniques and is continuing to enhance his hands-on therapy by taking various continuing education classes.

    Background/education: Timothy graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Rhode Island and went on to earn a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) with an orthopedic concentration from U.R.I.

    Crystal Leo
    Crystal Leo, PTA

    Qualifications:  Physical Therapist Assistant; Yoga Instructor

    Background/education: Community College of Rhode Island Associate degree in Applied Science; 200hour Certified Yoga Instructor (YogaWorks)

    Favorite Sports: Swimming, Running, Volleyball

    Other Passions: Yoga, Drawing, Dogs

    Bill Maine
    Bill Maine, PTA, BS

    Qualifications:  He has 15 years of clinical experience at The Care New England Wellness Center. As an exercise physiologist, he developed and supervised programs in cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes, weight management, osteoporosis and fibromyalgia. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, Bill has developed his skills in aquatic therapy and in the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.

    Clinical Expertise: He is LSVT BIG certified. Bill is a Certified Level 1 USA Triathlon Coach with over 20 years of experience as an endurance athlete and has completed multiple Ironman Triathlons. He has served in the Army National Guard for 26 years as a helicopter pilot.

    Background/education:  Bill is a 2013 graduate of the New England Technology Assistant Physical Therapy program. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island in Kinesiology.

    Lisa Meehan
    Lisa Meehan, PT, LSVT BIG certified, Site Coordinator

    Clinical Expertise: She has extensive experience in orthopedic and aquatic physical therapy as well as treating Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.

    Qualifications: She is LSVT BIG certified. Lisa has a special interest in treating runners with a focus on performance enhancement and injury prevention. Her approach to physical therapy is to maximize functional outcomes and encourage an overall wellness for her patients.

    Background/education:  Lisa joined the Rhode Island Rehab team in 2008 and had an integral part in developing our clinics in East Providence and East Greenwich.
