Mechanical Traction

Mechanical Traction

Mechanical traction can be a useful part of a rehabilitation program for a variety of neck and back problems, including disc protrusions/dysfunctions, joint stiffness, degenerative disc disease, muscle spasms, and facet joint impingement.

RI Rehab is equipped to provide mechanical cervical and lumbar traction when indicated. Therapists also regularly counsel and instruct patients regarding the use of home traction devices for symptom management. Additionally, lumbar traction is often provided in the pool (see Aquatic therapy).
